My favorite way to use this marinade is on salmon. Typically, I buy a large slab of salmon from my local grocery store or butcher shop. Then, I cut the salmon into equal-sized pieces and soak each piece generously in the marinade. Now, let’s get to cookin’!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon reduced-sodium soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon fresh Italian herbs, finely chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  • In a bowl, mix together olive oil, honey, fresh lemon juice, reduced-sodium soy sauce, Italian herbs and garlic powder.
  • Use to marinate seafood such as shrimp or fish.

Notes

  • For best results, marinate seafood for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  • Marinating seafood for more than 8 hours may yield dry seafood.

The ingredients that you will need to make this recipe are ¼ cup of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of reduced-sodium soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of fresh Italian herbs, and ½ teaspoon of garlic powder.

Preparation time for this Seafood Marinade only takes 5 minutes. That’s it! You simply add the ingredients. Then whisk or stir. To make this recipe, take out a bowl and mix together the olive oil, honey, fresh lemon juice, soy sauce, Italian herbs, and garlic powder. Use it to marinate your seafood or choice.

You might notice that this recipe does not call for salt. That’s because soy sauce is already salty enough. Soy sauce is a rather sodium-filled condiment which is why we are using reduced-sodium soy sauce and are only using a little bit of it.

For best results, marinate your seafood of choice for at least 30 minutes. However, I have found that 2 hours is best. Seafood should not be marinated for more than 8 hours. Marinating seafood for more than 8 hours may cause it to become dry and tough. That can be hard to believe, right? I know when I first began cooking, most nights would result in ruined dinners. I would tend to both over-marinate and over-salt my fish. It would be too tough and way too salty. So, I just had to eat cereal! It was a ruined meal for sure.

As long as you follow the recipe measurements, your Seafood Marinade will turn out great! Hopefully, you find making this Seafood Marinade easy and fun! Enjoy as much marinated seafood as you ever so desire.
