To make this box cake taste homemade, we are using milk instead of water and melted unsalted butter instead of oil. Use the same equivalents as stated on the box. Depending on what box mix brand you get, the measurements will vary.

To make the frosting, you will need 12 ounces of confectioners’ sugar, 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, 8 ounces of Cool Whip, and 10 Oreo cookies that are broken in half. You can probably tell by looking at the ingredients that this frosting is whipped frosting. So, if you like whipped frosting, then you’ll certainly like this one. You’ll especially like the addition of the Oreo cookies. This whipped frosting is versatile. In fact, it is so versatile that it goes on a lot of different desserts such as on top of brownies or other cakes like red velvet and chocolate.

To perfect this Oreo Cake, here are a few tips. First, do not crush the cookies too finely. Breaking them in half and then mixing is all you need. You want the cake and frosting to have some crunch. Second, if you’re crunched for time, you can break up the cake baking time. For instance, you can make the cake up to three days in advance. Hold off on making the frosting though until you are ready to frost and serve the cake.

To make this, Oreo Cake, first preheat your oven to the temperature stated on the white box cake mix that you are using. Next, spray and flour a 9×13 inch pan or three 8-inch round cake pans. Set it aside. In a large bowl make the cake mix according to package instructions, swapping out water for milk and oil for melted butter. Add the broken Oreos and use a hand mixer or whisk to combine broken cookies into the batter. Pour the batter into the cake pan and bake as stated on the box. Use a toothpick to check that the center is completely done. Finally, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely before frosting.

Now, once the cake comes out of the oven, you can make the whipped frosting. It’s quick and easy! In a large bowl, mix together confectioners’ sugar, softened cream cheese, Cool Whip, and broken Oreo cookies. Then, use it to frost the completely cooled cake! Slice and Serve! Be sure to refrigerate any leftover cake.

That’s really all there is to it. And, you will be amazed by how good it tastes! If you prefer to make this cake into cupcakes, then do so! You can get at least 18 to 24 cupcakes out of this recipe. I hope you and your loved ones enjoy this easy Oreo Cake recipe! Happy Baking!
