This Tuna Salad recipe serves 6 people. It only takes about 5 minutes of prep time and 20 minutes of chilling time in the refrigerator. To make this, you will need to use four 5-ounce cans of tuna. It is best to use tuna that is canned in water. Just make sure that simply drain most of the water before using it. You will also need 1/2 cup of mayonnaise, 1/4 cup of finely diced celery, 1 tablespoon of finely diced red onion, 3 tablespoons of sweet pickle relish, salt, black pepper, and paprika for garnish.

A great tip for making this is to use your favorite mayonnaise brand. This will make you enjoy the tuna salad a lot more! With the 1/2 cup of mayonnaise measurement, you will certainly be able to taste the mayonnaise. If you like more sweetness in your tuna salad, then add a tablespoon or more of the sweet pickle relish. The sweet pickle relish gives this tuna salad a unique flavor and helps to offset the savory ingredients. To stay true to the taste of tuna, adding garlic powder or onion powder is not recommended. Those two ingredients can be much too overpowering for a recipe like this.

In a large bowl mix together the tuna, mayonnaise, finely diced celery, finely diced onion, and sweet pickle relish. Give it a taste and season it with salt and pepper to your liking. Then, cover the tuna salad and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 20 minutes before serving and enjoying. Serve this tuna salad either on a sandwich, with some crackers, vegetables, or even some deviled eggs! It is also great to use as a protein base for a salad!

  1. I use same ingredients plus additional chopped olives. Any olives of your preference will do. I used jarred kalamata olives because that’s what I had a lot of, leftover from making charcuterie.
