For me, when it comes to enjoying food, the texture plays a huge role! If I don’t like the texture of something, I simply won’t enjoy eating it. And, I also don’t like to chew a lot. That’s what makes this recipe perfect. The broccoli is steamed to be easy to chew and swallow. It’s soft, but still has an incredible bite to it. Sometimes when I roast broccoli, it has an uneven texture and just isn’t as enjoyable to eat. So I tend to opt for the steamed method when I can.

Why Steam?

Not only does steamed broccoli yield an even texture, but it also helps to retain the color and nutrients in the broccoli. So, not only is it easily digestible, it’s beneficial to you even more!

To make this, you will need just a few ingredients. They are 2 bunches of broccoli, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, and parmesan cheese for garnish. To get started on making this recipe, first, steam the broccoli covered with a lid over boiling water for 10 minutes. Next, in a large skillet, over medium heat, sauté the minced garlic in olive oil until it becomes fragrant. This should only take about 30 to 45 seconds. Remove it from the heat. Add the steamed broccoli to the skillet. Toss the broccoli around to coat it evenly with the oil and garlic. And, finally season it with salt and pepper, to taste, garnish with parmesan cheese and Enjoy!

Once you take a bite, you’ll notice just how much flavor the fresh garlic and oil add to the steamed broccoli. If you try it and realize that you need a bit more salt and pepper, certainly add some. After all, you’re the one eating it. Add however much you desire.
