For this recipe, you need 1 ½ pounds of russet potatoes, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of pepper, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder, and ¼ teaspoon of onion powder. To get started on making this, go ahead and wash and peel the potatoes. Peeling is optional. However, I always like to peel my potatoes because I don’t like the skin on them. Then, cut them into ½ inch chunks. Toss the potatoes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Then, place them in the air fryer basket to cook for 25 minutes at 380°F. Be sure to shake the basket every 5 minutes. Shaking the basket ensures that each piece of potato gets evenly browned and cooked all the way through.

  • 1 1/2 pounds russet potatoes

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Directions

  • Wash and peel potatoes. Cut into ½ inch chunks.
  • Toss potatoes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Place in the air fryer basket and cook at 380°F for 25 minutes. Be sure to shake the basket every 5 minutes.
  • Serve and Enjoy with ketchup, and/or other sides.

After air frying the potatoes for 25 minutes at 380°F, they will come out to be beautifully golden and crispy home fries. Allow them to rest for 2 to 5 minutes since they will be super hot. After that period, serve them. If you are enjoying these for breakfast, then have them with some pancakes and scrambled eggs. Or, if you would rather serve these for lunch, then pair them with a sandwich or a cheeseburger. They are even delicious when eaten as a snack with some ketchup. They taste pretty close to french fries when paired with ketchup!

Since potatoes are such a versatile vegetable, there is so much you can do with them. So, if you have a dipping sauce or a specific seasoning that you would like to use to make these, then use it! The most important part about this recipe is the air frying method. Be sure to adhere to the temperature and cooking time. And, don’t forget to shake the basket periodically! Enjoy your Easy Air Fryer Home Fries and Happy Cooking!
