New York Strip is my favorite cut of steak. It is tender and juicy. I find it easy to cook this cut of steak and have implemented my own tips to help you cook it yourself for best results. I pan sear mine, but you can certainly grill it or make it in the oven if that is what you choose. Here is a tip: Make sure your steak has gotten the chance to come to room temperature before seasoning and cooking. A room temperature steak cooks much more evenly than a cold one. It will also get a much nicer and browner seared outside crust.

I only use salt, pepper and olive oil. And, let me tell you, that these three ingredients are ALL that you need to make this New York Strip tasty. Using only salt and pepper as seasonings helps to showcase the true and authentic beef flavor that the meat gives off. Trust me, you truly do not want to mask the flavor of the beef with other seasoning that might be too potent. A pro tip that I will tell you to do when cooking this steak is to leave it alone. Once you place this in the piping hot skillet, do not touch it, mess with it or wiggle it around until it is time to flip it.

I like to serve this with a starch of some sort such as a sweet potato, baked potato or mashed potatoes. I also always like to incorporate some sort of green vegetable. Typically it is a side salad or spinach. A well balanced and nutritious meal is the goal here. Trust me, you will be satisfied with this delicious steak and will want to keep this easy recipe in your rotation. Enjoy!
