To make this Sautéed Squash and Zucchini you will need 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 yellow squash that are cut into bite-sized cubes, 2 zucchini that are cut into bite-sized cubes, salt, and pepper(to taste).

Once you have your ingredients prepared, get started on sautéing the squash and zucchini in 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until they are tender. This should take anywhere from 5 to 8 minutes. Add salt and pepper and toss everything around so each piece gets evenly coated. Finally, remove the skillet from heat and serve. That’s all there is to it!

Surely, you notice that salt and pepper are the only two seasonings involved. This is what makes the recipe so easy to cook. Salt and pepper are two very basic seasonings and most of us have them on hand. With this dish, you really want the natural flavors of the vegetables to stand out and not be overpowered by too many seasonings.

You can use any type of salt for this dish such as Himalayan salt, Flaky salt, Kosher salt, or sea salt. Just be aware that different types of salt yield either a more salty or a less salty flavor. For instance, if you choose to use Kosher salt, you would need to use less of it than if you were to use sea salt. That is because Kosher salt is pretty strong. Whenever you add salt, it is best to season lightly at first and then taste it. Then, if you need to add more salt, do so! Everyone’s palate is different which is why I like to say season to taste. I like to add just a sprinkle of salt, however, you might like to add a little more. I also go fairly light on the black pepper.

This dish can be served as a side dish to go along with any protein of your choice. It can also be put into a veggie or protein bowl. However, you choose to serve it is entirely up to you! You might even want to eat this as a snack. I like to do that sometimes when I make this. I will put a portion of it in a bowl and coat it with some spicy salsa. It is so delicious that way! Enjoy making this simple, easy and quick Sautéed Squash and Zucchini. Happy Cooking!!
