Move over instant oatmeal! This version is so much better! It’s hearty, nutritious, and offers quite a hefty helping of fiber. Oatmeal is a delicious food option for breakfast or a snack. As you probably know, there are so many different ways to flavor oatmeal. 

This Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal recipe is a classic one for sure! And, it is one of my favorite ways to eat oatmeal. The combination of maple syrup and brown sugar is so comforting. Just one bite of this will bring so much joy to your stomach. 

Making this recipe only requires a handful of ingredients. You will need is water, old-fashioned oats, maple syrup, and brown sugar. Use any type of brown sugar you would like. If you don’t have brown sugar, you can easily make it by combining a bit of molasses with granulated sugar. That’s all there is to the process of making brown sugar. Sounds easy enough, right? It is! 

To make this oatmeal, all you need to do is bring your water to a boil. Then, add the oats and bring the heat down to low to simmer for five minutes. After five minutes, add the maple syrup and brown sugar. Then, serve yourself a hearty bowl of Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal. Enjoy it to the fullest!

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups water

  • ¾ cup old fashioned oats

  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar

Directions

  • In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil.
  • Add old fashioned oats and reduce heat to simmer. Cook for 5 minutes or until oats are softened.
  • Stir in maple syrup and brown sugar.
  • Serve and Enjoy!
