Loaded Green Pepper and Onion Pizza

This Loaded Green Pepper and Onion Pizza is one of my favorite pizzas to make in a pinch when I’m hungry. I tend to keep ingredients for making pizza on hand. It’s great to have when I want something that is quick and easy while still being delicious.

When I don’t feel like cooking a whole big meal, it’s great to make this pizza. It’s filling, satisfies my cravings and I get my veggie intake in with the green bell pepper and onion. It’s also good to eat when I’m craving pizza but don’t feel like ordering takeout or delivery. From prep to finish, in just about 15 minutes you too can be eating this Loaded Pepper and Onion and Pizza. 

This recipe calls for 1 green bell pepper, seeded and sliced, ½ red onion, sliced, 1 pizza crust, ½ cup of pizza sauce and  ¾ cup of shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese. This pizza only needs to be cooked at 425°F/220°C for 12 to 15 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1 green bell pepper, seeded and sliced

  • ½ red onion, sliced

  • 1 1 pizza crust

  • ½ cup pizza sauce

  • ¾ cup shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F/220°C.
  • Spread pizza sauce on crust being sure to leave about 1 inch of outside crust without any sauce. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over sauce. Top with green bell pepper and onion.
  • Place directly on oven rack and bake for
  • Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until cheese is fully melted.
  • Slice and Enjoy!

Notes

  • After baking, if you find the cheese still isn’t melted to your liking, broil it on high for 1 minute at a time. 

For this recipe, I used a cheese grater to shred my block of mozzarella cheese. However, that isn’t necessary. You can use prepackaged shredded mozzarella cheese. Just be sure that it is low-moisture as listed on the ingredient list. This will ensure it melts properly. As the pizza bakes, the vegetables will get a bit tender while still keeping their crunch. So, don’t worry about them getting too soft or mushy at all.
