Air Fryer Rotisserie-Style Chicken

Unbelievably juicy and bursting with flavor this Rotisserie-Style Chicken can be made right in your air fryer! Unlike the oven which can tend to dry meats out if not properly tended to, the air fryer pretty much does all the work here. If you’ve ever made a whole chicken in the oven, then you know that it can be a  bit difficult to keep it juicy. However, there is something about the air fryer, that keeps this whole chicken juicy and full of flavor.

No basting is required for this Air Fryer Rotisserie-Style Chicken! How easy does that sound? And, who doesn’t want an easy-to-make meal? I know that I do! This is a recipe that I love for sure, which is why I’m sharing it with you.

What you’ll need to make this Air Fryer Rotisserie-Style Chicken is one 5-pound whole chicken with the giblets removed, 1 tablespoon of kosher salt, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1/2 a teaspoon of Italian seasoning, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

In a small bowl, combine the kosher salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Then rub the mixture all over the chicken. Be sure to coat the breasts, wings, legs, and cavity well. Next, slather the chicken with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Place the whole chicken in the air fryer, breast side down, and air fry at 350°F/177°C for 40 minutes. After 40 minutes, flip the chicken over so it is breast side up and cook it at the same temperature for another 40 minutes. After 80 minutes total of cooking time,  remove it from the air fryer and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before carving into it.

Now, taste a piece! I know you are tempted. When you carve this chicken you will see all the juices run out. See how the breast meat just so easily flakes?

Or, just serve it as is along with sides such as mashed potatoes and green beans! Did I mention that you can make gravy with the chicken drippings? Well, you can!
