Baked Lemon Pepper Salmon

Here is a recipe that you and your family will love! This Baked Lemon Pepper Salmon for six is flaky and moist. This dish comes together by topping two pounds of fresh-cut salmon with some homemade lemon pepper seasoning. If you have never made lemon pepper seasoning, then now is your chance! It is extremely easy to make. All you need is 1 tablespoon of lemon zest, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, and ½ teaspoon of salt. That’s it! Can you believe it? Let’s get to making this dish, shall we?

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds 2 salmon

  • 1 tablespoon 1 lemon zest

  • 1 teaspoon 1 pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon 1/2 salt

  • cooking spray for pan 

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray. Place salmon on baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, mix together lemon zest, black pepper, and salt.
  • Spread mixture on salmon. 
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until cooked to your liking.
  • Remove from oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy! 

To make this, preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with some foil and spray it with cooking spray. Then, place salmon on the baking sheet. Next, make the Lemon Pepper seasoning. Do this by mixing together the lemon zest, black pepper, and salt in a small bowl. Then, place the fresh lemon pepper seasoning on top of the salmon and press it in with your fingers or a spatula. You want the seasoning to be able to adhere to the fish.

I should note that what is great about this dish is that there is no need to use a separate plate to season the salmon. It can be seasoned right on the baking sheet. I mean, who really wants to wash an extra dish, right? 

Bake the Lemon Pepper Salmon for 15 to 20 minutes. 15 minutes will yield a medium-well done salmon while 20 minutes will yield a more well-done salmon. How long you cook it is entirely your preference. However, just be sure that the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F in the thickest part. That is how you know it is safe to eat.  

After baking the salmon, remove it from the oven. Allow it to rest for at least 5 to 10 minutes before serving and enjoying. Enjoy this with any sides you choose.

When you taste this Baked Lemon Pepper Salmon, you will be able to tell that it has just the right amount of crunch on the outside. Not to mention, that it flakes just perfectly on the inside when sliced through with a fork.

Once you try salmon this way you’ll be hooked on it for a while! Seriously! I know I’m officially hooked! I swear that I crave this salmon in my sleep…and when I wake up. I think it’s the zesty and tangy flavor that has me hooked. It’s a powerful seasoning. If you want even more lemon flavor, then serve this Baked Lemon Pepper Salmon with some lemon slices on top. I do not usually do that. However, it does make for a beautiful presentation. Usually, I am far too hungry to do so. Instead, I dig right in.
