Cilantro Lime Shrimp Tacos

The name of this dish might sound intricate and complicated. However, it is a rather easy dish to make. From start to finish, these Cilantro Lime Shrimp Tacos take about 15 minutes to make. Sounds quick, right? Well, that’s because it is. So, if you’re looking for a quick and delicious recipe, then this is the one for you. Let’s get started on making these tacos!

Alright, so, for these tacos you will need only a handful of ingredients. To make this recipe, you will need 1 pound of raw shrimp, 1 teaspoon of taco seasoning (use your favorite store-bought blend!), 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 8 small corn or flour tortillas, 1 cup of shredded green or purple cabbage, sweet jalapenos from a jar, ¼ cup of sour cream, ¼ cup of mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of lime juice, and ½ cup of fresh cilantro. 

If you are a shrimp lover, then hopefully this recipe becomes a favorite of yours. If you’re feeling adventurous during the cooking process, try making this into a surf and turf shrimp taco. Use either chicken or steak in addition to the shrimp. It’s very delicious that way. Just a warning: You will be completely STUFFED!

Ingredients

  • For the Shrimp:
  • 1 pound 1 raw shrimp (any size)

  • 1 teaspoon 1 taco seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon 1 olive oil

  • Shrimp Taco Toppings:
  • 8 small 8 corn or flour tortillas

  • 1 cup 1 shredded green or purple cabbage

  • Sweet jarred jalapeños

  • For the Green Dressing:
  • ¼ cup sour cream

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • 1 teaspoon 1 lime juice

  • ½ cup fresh cilantro

Directions

  • For the Shrimp:
  • Season shrimp with taco seasoning. Next, in a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium high heat and cook shrimp for 5 to 6 minutes or until cooked all the way through.
  • Remove from the skillet and drain on a paper towel lined plate.
  • For the Green Dressing:
  • In a blender, blend sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice and cilantro.
  • To Assemble:
  • Dress corn or flour tortillas with shredded cabbage, shrimp, jalapeños, and green dressing.
  • Serve and Enjoy!

I made the shrimp on my stovetop. You certainly can make it on the grill if you want a little more char or smoky flavor. The dressing was something I just threw together and it turned out to be an excellent pairing for the shrimp! I chose to drizzle the dressing over my tacos. However, you can also coat the shrimp and toppings in the dressing and then place it on the tortilla.
