Barbecue Flavored Roasted Potatoes

Do you like barbecue flavored chips? If so, then you’re going to love these Barbecue Flavored Roasted Potatoes. This recipe comes together easily with homemade barbecue seasoning. The steps are fast and easy. All you need to make this recipe are some potatoes, a little bit of oil, and a handful of spices to give the potatoes that barbecue flavoring. 

On this particular day that I made this recipe, I had a taste for some barbecue sauce on my salmon. I was disappointed when I realized that I didn’t have any. And, I was even more disappointed when I realized that I didn’t have all of the ingredients to make it. I did however have the necessary spices to make Barbecue Flavored Roasted Potatoes. So, I opted for that. And, believe me when I say that it was a huge hit in my household! 

These Barbecue Flavored Roasted Potatoes can be served as an appetizer, snack, or simply a side dish. Since these potatoes are so flavorful due to the barbecue seasoning, they don’t need any dipping sauce. However, if you prefer a dipping sauce, I recommend that you pair it with a ranch or a blue cheese dressing.

Potatoes are such a versatile food. So many recipes can be made with them. These Barbecue Flavored Roasted Potatoes can be served with a cheeseburger in place of French fries. This makes for the most delicious pairing. If you want French fries, try putting this seasoning on your fries. 

Barbecue Flavored Roasted Potatoes

  • 1 ½ pounds red potatoes, washed and cut in bite-sized pieces

  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon brown sugar

  • ½ teaspoon dry mustard

  • Salt and pepper, to taste


  • Preheat the oven to 425°F/220°C.
  • Next, in a large bowl, mix together, olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, brown sugar, dry mustard, salt and pepper.
  • Toss in potatoes and coat them evenly.
  • Spread out on a baking sheet and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until tender to your liking.
  • Serve and Enjoy!
